This week Molly started piano lessons. I'm really not sure what her expectations were heading into that first lesson. I mean I think she knew she had no skills but we hadn't really discussed how basic the beginning would be. The first lesson went okay but oh my stars, the first practice? Totally different story. I was ready to dis-enroll her for life five minutes into it. I mean how can one 6 year old cop such an attitude? But we managed to get going and after a few moments, it seemed to come together for her. It also helped when I left the room and let her figure it out. After the allotted time, she actually asked to practice longer! This was all her idea, piano lessons that is. I'm not going to make her do something she doesn't want to because that's just punishment for me and a waste of money. So we'll see how long her music career holds out. If it's anything like her dance career, it will be short lived. Oh well, at least the dance bag is the perfect size for piano books! (that's a red-headed ballerina on the bag in case you can't tell.)
